As funny as it might sound to remove certain actors from movies – this is a serious and raising thread in the future. A couple of years ago it was difficult to manipulate videos, but meanwhile it is very easy and accessible to all to falsify videos with AI methods. That may result in questions as “can we trust what we see in this video” and has serious consequences for Cyberdefense. Deepfake – an artificial word consisting of “deep learning” and “fake” – is therefore a rapidly increasing thread as it can be used to create fake news and hoaxes. In early 2018 a mobile application called FakeApp was launched [1], which allows end users easily to create videos with swapped faces. You can watch a nice video by Siraj Raval – see below:
